Hit and Run

Hit and Run

Hit and Run

The difference between harm & aggression and the hit & run OCD sufferers is a hit & run person is afraid he'll accidently hit a pedestrian or car; while the harm & aggression sufferer fears he will act on his thoughts, feelings or aggression to intentionally, although not premeditatedly, hurt someone.

Often the person who suffers from hit and run OCD feels compelled to retrace their route, repeatedly checking out the rear view mirror, listening for emergency vehicles or solicit the reassurance that they haven’t unintentionally hurt someone with their car.

At times, their feelings are so intense that they spend hours trying to check the anxiety away, while it can become so intense that they give up driving.
