I would caution everyone of starting and stopping this herbal protocol to often because they may develop a resistance in their body.  Starting a protocol is much like dieting.... the first time you diet, you loose weight easily, but if you go off of it and go on it a second time you won't loose weight as easily and if you do that time and time again, the body's homeostasis adjusts to it and dieting doesn't work anymore... Same with taking the herbs.
It is tough to be dedicated for 1 to 3 years of your life continuously.  But it is THE only way that I know.
